Segura’s paintings, are transforming from the bright colors of his Island to the rustic old color from what he found in Texas. But the theme remains the same. In his work he talks about the old traditions of the places that he has lived.

In Cuba, the farmers (guajiros) are becoming the Cowboys and the Native Americans in the west. In both places the people who made the living from the land, keeping the values and traditions of generations before. His work has almost a romantic feeling of the man in love with his land. The paintings are made of acrylic and oil on canvas using a mixture of a paste to get an effect of thickness on the rustic pictures. Since 2010 Segura has been living and working as an Art teacher in the Dallas area.
