The Blue Mountain Brands Story

The Blue Mountain Ranch Brands Dinnerware Collection celebrates the ranching traditions and rodeo heritage of Eastern Oregon. Its authentic brands were gathered from working ranches throughout Umatilla County, while its Western illustrations were adapted from rodeo photography by local photographer R.A. McLean. The original images were captured at rodeos in and around Pendleton, Oregon, including the legendary Pendleton Round-Up.

Each design was developed to tell a genuine regional story—not simply to create another Western pattern. The result is collectible dinnerware rooted in the people, ranches, and traditions of the American West.

Handmade Character

Every plate is individually handcrafted, glazed, and kiln-fired at Pendleton Ceramics, LLC. Natural variations in glaze tone, dimensions, surface texture, ranch-brand placement, and rodeo imagery are expected. These differences are part of the handmade process and ensure that no two plates are exactly alike.

Pieces are produced in limited runs of 50. When a new production run begins, slight changes may appear in the placement or arrangement of the imagery and ranch-brand pattern.

Stoneware Care

• Dishwasher and microwave safe.
• Oven safe when proper stoneware practices are followed.
• Freezer safe after the plate has been brought gradually to the appropriate temperature.
• Do not place directly under a broiler.
• Place room-temperature food in room-temperature stoneware before putting it into a cold oven.
• Set the plate on a rimmed baking sheet before placing it in the oven.
• After removing it from the oven, place it on a wooden surface or cloth trivet.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes, including moving hot stoneware directly onto a cold or wet surface.
• Allow the plate to return to room temperature before placing it in the freezer or water.
