Beneath the top, a sculptural hand-forged iron base provides both strength and artistry. Traditional Mexican blacksmiths heat each piece of iron over a charcoal fire before shaping it by hand on an anvil. Hammered twists and graceful scrollwork give the base a delicate appearance while supporting the considerable weight of the mesquite top.
